The Apls are the altitudal dominant feature od Europe, it's a cradle of all climbers and lovers of rugged mountain nature. Their highest mountain is Mt. Blanc (4,807 m). All the sierra stretches in width from 130 to 260 kilometres and in lenght about 1200 kilometres, in sum through seven states from French Riviera and coastline on the Mediterranean sea in the southwestern part to Vienna in the east and occupies about 180 000 square kilometres. Many times I had an oportunity to admire their captivating beauty, many times I succeeded in ascent to some of the proud summits. Pictures, which I took there, I offer in this gallery... |
